God's Kindness

God's Kindness

As I pulled out my prayer cards, I came across the word KINDNESS. I prayed for my children, for Rick, and for me to have kind hearts and to be kind in the way we speak and the way we act. Throughout the day yesterday, I was reminded of Christ’s kindness. I listened to an incredible podcast from God Centered Mom and Jeannie Callahan Cannon reminded us of how it is through Christ’s kindness that we are led to repentance. It is not through shame, guilt, or condemnation, but by His pure kindness.

As I learn to surrender my burdens to Christ, I am also learning to surrender my pride. So often, I strive to do things by myself. I want to be a kind mom and a loving wife, and yet if I try to be these in my own strength, I always fall short. Today, I am praying that I can clothe myself in Christ’s kindness. That the fruit of the Holy Spirit will live in me, and that I will be powered up by Him!

I am not sure what you are facing today. What you are striving for. What you are trying to carry yourself. I pray today that you may lay any burdens and all of your striving at the foot of the cross. May you be filled up with Christ’s joy and may His kindness overflow!
